The opening ceremony for the new semester at VGU on October 28th, 2017 was the framework for awarding DAAD scholarships to outstanding VGU students. Five students in the Bachelor degree programme “Finance & Accounting” will be supported with a one-semester scholarship for studying in Germany at Goethe-University Frankfurt/Main. Another five gifted students in the Master degree programme “Sustainable Urban Development” offered by Technical University Darmstadt will be supported with a surplace scholarship at VGU for one year covering tuition fees and giving further allowances. In his speech former Germany alumnus and currently first Party Secretary in Ho Chi Minh City Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan stressed VGU’s importance as a flagship project in transnational Higher Education and academic excellence with currently almost 1300 Bachelor and over 600 Master students in Vietnam. Successful integration of the graduates into the labor market, close co-operation with external partners in industry and economy as well as the fruitful collaboration between German and Vietnamese scholars and lecturers contribute to VGU’s success.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a major stakeholder in the VGU consortium and supports VGU sustainably.
