Good Practices

An agreement on cultural cooperation between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany was signed in 1990. Since then, many new university cooperative partnerships between Germany and Vietnam have been established and consistently driven forward.

These cooperative partnerships cover a range of activities, from the exchange of students and researchers and the development of courses to a large, transnational education project.

Here we present some examples of good practice from these higher education partnerships.

VGU

Flagship project: Vietnamese-German University

Over recent years, the Vietnamese-German University has become the world’s fourth largest bi-national university with German participation.

HUST

Partner since the beginning: Hanoi University of Science and Technology

With two faculties, 211 professors and nearly 30,000 students, HUST is the country’s leading technical university.

HLU

Cooperation within the framework of the Rule of Law Dialogue: Hanoi Law University

HLU is the largest law training institution in Vietnam. It cooperates closely with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) and the DAAD within the framework of the Vietnamese-German Rule of Law Dialogue.
