ຍິນດີຕ້ອນຮັບ - Welcome

In Laos, the DAAD primarily supports the further development of academically trained specialists and executives from industry with scholarships in the Development-Related Postgraduate Courses scheme (in German).

The DAAD also funds university partnership programmes that support the structural development of higher education institutions in Laos, particularly at the National University of Laos (NUoL). Every year, the DAAD delivers further training and development courses for university managers as part of its DIES programme (in German). The DAAD holds annual information events on studying and research in Germany and is also represented at EU education fairs every year, where it presents a range of its programmes and services.

The DAAD also sends short-term lecturers and higher education advisers to universities in Laos. Long-standing cooperative relationships are in place between the University of Siegen and the National University of Laos with the aim of establishing courses in English in the fields of engineering and hydraulic engineering. Furthermore, the University of Siegen advises university managers in the Faculty of Engineering at NUoL as part of a DIES partnership (in German).

The Faculty of Forestry at NUoL is one of the partners in a multilateral university cooperation project to develop an English-language Master’s course entitled International Tropical Forestry at the Vietnamese Forestry University Xuan Mai. The German partners are the University of Göttingen and TU Dresden. Priority on the course is given to students from Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
