The Goethe-Institut offers German courses around the world.
You can learn the German language at levels A1–C2 at the Goethe-Institut in Hanoi and in Ho Chi Minh City.
German can also be taken as a subject at some Vietnamese schools. A number of partnerships also exist between Vietnamese and German schools. This programme is funded by the “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) initiative launched by the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA).
ZfA and PASCH
The Vietnamesisch-Deutsche Zentrum (VDZ) at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) offers German courses on a regular basis. These are primarily for students of HUST Hanoi, but external learners of German may also attend. The VDZ and the native speaker Lektors from DAAD Hanoi also run German courses for Vietnamese DAAD scholarship holders and government scholarship holders to prepare them for their academic studies or doctoral programme in Germany.
German Studies can be studied as an undergraduate course at three universities in Vietnam:
- Vietnam National University Hanoi, University of Languages and International Studies (Faculty of German Language and Culture)
- Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Faculty of German Linguistics and Literature)
- Hanoi University (HanU), German Studies Department
Vietnam National University Hanoi also offers a Master’s course in German linguistics. The two universities in Hanoi maintain German Institute Partnerships with German universities. German as a Foreign Language courses can be taken at HANU by students of all faculties. There are DAAD Lektors in all German departments in Vietnam.
